Lake Quivira is situated wholly on the lake. It is the culmination of a dream by a Topekan to create “A lake of the finest water in this part of Kansas.” He was joined by others who organized the Quivira Development Company, invested in it and also sold stock in the company. It is a gated country club community which has an 18 hole golf course, an elegant clubhouse and a lake over 200 acres in size with for boating, fishing, swimming and sunning on the beach.
