Safford as a city is quite an isolated area. Knowing this unique quality of the city the government has a host of observatories here. These have eventually become tourist centers for people.. They come and visit and learn several things. There are so many mountains close by like Mount Graham for example. The street lights are dim in these places so that people can make complete use of the observatories.
