Maricopa is known as the Oasis in the desert due to the rich wealth of oil wells. There was a lot of mining activity here which gave birth to an 18th century Stagecoach Railway Station. Even today people take a joy ride on the Stage coaches and steam engine rails. The coaches chug along some of the most scenic tracks which take you through a myriad of changing landscapes from greeneries to deserts and mountains. The one hour ride is well spoken for.
