Greers Ferry sits along the shores of Greers Ferry lake; a close to 40,000 acre body of water formed by Greers Ferry dam. There are campsite areas with boat launches, restroom facilities and swimming beaches, maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as well as marinas where ski boats, pontoon boats, house boats, fishing rigs, and personal watercraft are available for rental. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission stocks the lake with game fish native to Arkansas; and walleye, channel catfish, largemouth, white bass, and crappie and striped bass are plentiful. If you want to taste some great Chile, plan on attending the Greers Ferry Chili Challenge in early November at the West Side School cafeteria. In addition to the head cooks and their assistants from the businesses as well as private citizens in town simmering and seasoning to win top honors, there are door prizes and a pie auction. The annual Greers Ferry Fall Festival provides folks with lots of good food, one of a kind crafts, a
poker run, car show, 5k fun run and walk and live musical entertainment all leading up to the finale of a spectacular fireworks display.
