The town was given its name by the its first postmaster after his sister suggested the name from a bush in their yard full of buds. Surprisingly enough although the town has a fairly small population, it is the second largest in White county by area. The production of its signature blends coffees by the RoZark Hills Roasterie in town is attracting the attention of coffee lovers throughout the state. They come here to partake of a cup or two while enjoying the colorful murals depicting coffee plantations and steaming coffee cups painted by a local artist. The place has even garnered national attention and visitors.
