There are several historic places to visit in La Junta. Some are even prehistoric. The city is surrounded by wildlife areas and national parks and one should not be wondering what to do here. If you are here then the best possible thing to do is drive. Without a vehicle you are pretty handicapped and also you need to carry your bicycles or boats or water scooters just about anything else you have. You will see a heavy RV population here.
