Dixie County has an extremely small population, and especially Cross City. Despite the name, folks don’t get too cross with you. Don’t come here lookin for much company; population density is low. It is surrounded by sparsely settled and populated areas. To the East is the Cross City airport; a county airport which is open for public use. The airport is not suitable for use by large commercial aircraft.
The area is west of Gainesville on the slow route to Tallahassee.
