About the area
Clearwater got its start as a result of the Federal Armed Occupation Act. The population started to grow in the early 1900’s when the city was incorporated. Clearwater’s two State parks, Caladesi Island State Park with its powder white sand and warm crystal-clear water and Fort De Soto Park, are among the finest beaches in the United States.
