Perry has a very small population crowded into a land area of about 9.3 square miles. In the recent past the city has experienced a relatively high number of violent crimes for the population. For those who wish to fly into the city; Perry-Foley airport, a publicly owned facility, 3 miles to the South can accomodate small private aircraft. Experience a trip into Florida’s past by visting the 1864 Cracker Homestead just south of the city limits. This building is in the Forest Capital Musem State park surrounded by beautiful park grounds and Longleaf pine and oak trees. The park offers pavilions for picnicking and childrens’ playgrounds.
