Carroll County Court

Fresh air and delicate green tones are the perfect elements to describe this county adjacent to Clinton and Jackson Counties in Iowa State. Back in the 1830s, this territory was incorporated to Illinois State; making honor to Charles Carroll who signed the Declaration of Independence when its people named their land after him. Mount Carroll is the county seat and witnessed back in the 1850s the foundation of the Shimer College, which gave the community several notorious men and women. Savanna also known as “The Metropolis”, is the largest city of this territory with 3550 residents and approximately 2.5 square miles of extension, which is an entertainment center, an ideal residential choice, and tourism destination because of its small town attractions and gorgeous recreational areas, full of gardens and history.
