Lake Garnett, which has a surface area of over 55 acres, was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s. It is located in North Lake Park and has a variety of recreational facilities available. This is also the site of the city owned, member operated and volunteer run Lake Garnett Raceway. It consisits of a more than 2 1/2 mile road racing course and a 1/3 mile asphalt sprint track and offers competitive kart racing. The facility has a new track surface, new pit road, new off road, new corner curbing and an enlarged asphalt hot pit area.
