Pratt is locate near some streams which break up the rolling plain of the area; the Ninnescah river and the Elm and Turkey creeks. If you enter town and see two water towers marked hot and cold, don’t worry it’s only a joke, the town does not supply a choice. The Pratt County Historical Society has created something special in their Historical museum with its galleries of scenes representing early day Kansas homes and businesses. The history of Pratt County back to the dinosaurs is represented by a gallery of exhibits such as Native American hunting artifacts, fossils and arrowheads. Another gallery has recreations of period rooms around “Grandma’s Garden “. The Mainstreet Gallery has structures depicting businesses of the nineteenth century. The East Gallery is a display of farm machinery and a nother gallery has more period exhibits such as a drug store, Pratt Army Air field, a local doctor’s offices, Pratt regional medical center and a World War II memorial.
