Every year in October, the city of Barbourville comes alive with the Daniel Boone Festival. He was one of the first explorers to have come to this city. A carnival, beauty pageant and great food are a part of the festival. The city also loves flowers and the red bud festival is an excellent source to explore their interests. Actually they should have named it Bourbonville, because the amount of whisky that flows here during festivals, is unmatched…well what to say, you are in the Bourbon country after all!
