Houston county lies at the furthest Southeast corner of the state and along the Mississippi river. For those who are interested in Wild Turkey hunting Caledonia, called Minnesota’s Wild Turkey Capital, is the place to be. Minnesota replenishes the amount of wild Turkeys and they are concentrated here. Drive south out of Caledonia on SR’s 44 and 76 past the Ma Cal Grove Country club and then South on 76 and you will come to the Houston County airport. Don’t go on by without stopping for a round of golf at the Country club. The golf course offers 9 holes of golf and there is a driving range, chipping green and putting green here for practice. The airport which is located approximately 3 miles South of Caledonia is small with a single runway just under 3500 feet in length.
