The annual International Professional Rodeo Association Jefferson County Rodeo is held over two days in early June at the county fairgrounds. This event sponsored by the Community Civic club features two nights of championship rough stock riding, roping, and barrel racing. There are activities even for those who are not competing with the petting zoo, pony rides mechanical bull rides. Plenty of refreshments are available and each night the rodeo performances are followed by live music.
