About the area
The arrival of the railroad and the building of a bridge across Cut Bank creek in the 1890’s gave a start to this city which was located on the west side of the creek. As luck would have it, after several years it was discovered that the city was located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and the residents decided to move the whole town to the east side of the creek. At least once each Summer, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, a theatrical outreach program of Montana State University-Bozeman, brings one of its productions to Cut Bank.
