A few miles to the South of this city there is an interesting place in Wymore called The Great Plains Welsh Heritage Centre. As you approach the building you cannot miss the mural on its side showing the Welsh emigration experience. The interactive displays, artifacts and oral histories tell the story of the early Welsh settlers and of their Welsh-American descendants. There is also a theater in this building which shows Welsh films. The center hosts the biennial Welsh Heritage festival in October. The Beatrice Arts in the Park festival is held in October at Charles park. There’s a lot of family fun at this event with free make & take kid craft projects, live craft demonstrations, vendors and displays of local artist’s works.
