The City of New Brunswick in Middlesex County is home to nearly 50,000 residents, a number that almost doubles during daytime, due to the presence of students from Rutgers University. The State University of Rutgers and the University of Medicine and Dentistry are both located in New Brunswick. The City was zoned an Urban Enterprise Zone a few years ago, and has since seen an unprecedented economic growth. Now New Brunswick is often referred to as the \’HealthCare City\’, thanks to the presence of Glaxosmith, Johnson and Johnson etc or the \’Hub City\’ due to it\’s strategic geographic location and proximity to big cities. The City has a diverse population, and is believed to have the largest number of people with Hungarian ancestry in the country. New Brunswick is also home to the famous Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum and to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Interstate 287, Interstate 95 (NJ Turnpike), US Rt 1 and US Rt 130 serve the township.
With so many college students, there is going to be some trouble. Fake ID cases, marijuana and other drugs. But mostly the kids are good.
