About the area

Delaware County is a beautiful area of New York. There are many festivals put on each year, great outdoor recreation, and wonderful historical sites to see. Each town seems to have a historian ready to tell you about how their particular area was formed. The mountains offer great hiking and skiing. All the resorts in the area offer accommodations. The county is on the fringe of three regions of the state. Closest to Binghamton, it is also on the fringe of the Capital Region and not too far from the Hudson Valley region. And it even borders Pennsylvania. County population is less than 50,000. Since the county is fairly large in area, there is a lot of open space.
