They got themselves an Antique Tractor show here in Kirby Park; a fine pub and restaurant serving from the former train station. Plenty of historic buildings, including the Cady Library (a gorgeous structure) and the circa 1900’s Nichols High School. The Kirby Band, begun in 1876 is the oldest continually operating marching band in the US. Flea markets are held at Tioga Park, a former race track. Also noted for bass fishing, Nichols has two boat ramps.
The Cady Library is named after a local man, George Cady, as well as his wife. Cady was a cousin of the great Daniel Cady, and thus, of the far better known Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
Tioga Downs Racino is a popular area attraction.
Palmer Pelella is the ADA in Judge Nickels’ court and Sandy Cardone is the ADA for Judge Byers. Their number is 607-687-8650.
Speeding tickets on Route 17 dominate the Nichols Town Court calendar.
