About the area
Newfield boasts the highest point in the county – Connecticut Hill – and the oldest covered bridge in NYS. The 1851 bridge, the last in Tompkins County, and still in daily use, crosses Cayuga inlet. The creek flows into Cayuga Lake, a hot spot for rainbow trout in spring.
