Hudson Falls was the county seat of Washington County until the late 20th century. This village represents an important commercial and geographic center. Not only the commerce constitutes a relevant interest for Hudson Falls’ residents. The Hudson River Shakespeare Company is the column of talent, which has based its activities here for almost 10 years already, focusing on the quality of the performers and the likes of the audience.
Hudson Falls is now, along with Fort Edward, a bit of an offshoot of Glens Falls. In their day they stood in their own right.
