About Elmsford Village Court
About the area
The Village of Elmsford is in the northern part of the town near Interstate 287, and is on the way from White Plains to Tarrytown. Called Storm’s Bridge and later Hall’s Corners. Elmsford became the birthplace of “the cocktail” when Revolutionary War soldiers gathered in the local tavern and had their drinks gussied up with the tail feathers of male chickens stolen by the Colonials. James Fenimore Cooper references the area in his writing.
