Gates District Court

Camden, Chowan, Hertford, Pasquotank, and Perquimans Counties are the neighboring territories to the “son of Chowan, Herford, and Perquimans counties”. This land in the northeastern section of North Carolina was named after Gen. Horatio Gates, who commanded the American Army at the Battle of Saratoga. Gatesville town home of less than 300 people and less than 1 square of extension, is the county seat of this land.
