When Armour and Company bought out the Equity Cooperative Packing company plant and housing for employees, North of US 10, around 1925; they asked residents to move from their homes and many moved South of the highway. This area, South of US 10, was incorporated as the Village of Southwest Fargo around 1937 and became the city of West Fargo in the late 1940’s.
