Estacada is a wonderful place to start a fishing, hiking, picnicking, camping or boating vacation. Its location at the base of the Clackamas River Gorge and the Mt. Hood National Forest makes a great entranceway to Clackamas River Recreation Area. For artsy entertainment be sure to attend the annual Summer Celebration presented by the Estacada Area Arts Commission at the end of July. This two day festival has fun for everyone with live music and dance performances on the main stage and hands-on art activities for children and families. Lest the Art part of this festival be forgotten; there are exhibits by local artists with a juried Art fair and a Silent Art auction. Be sure and stop by to watch the artists paint the annual mural on the side of one of the local buildings.
