Oregon Institute of Technology, at the North end of the city is a four year engineering school with a graduate programs. A significant part of its curriculum is its program in renewable energy engineering. In addition to this program the school offers programs in the health professions, environmental science, information technology, engineering, business and management. Lake Ewauna, a large lake within walking distance of downtown Klamath Falls, is the place to see many different birds such as Barrow’s Goldeneye, waterfowl, shore birds and upland species including Green Heron, Black-crowned Night-Heron,Yellow-headed Blackbird, Spotted Sandpiper and Bald Eagle.
