About the area
Here where the Yachats river meets the Pacific Ocean. Visitors to the Yachats State Recreation area can view the gray whale migration. The rocky shore area next to the Recreation Area is designated as a marine garden; which
includes all rocky areas, tide pools, and sand beaches situated between extreme high tide and extreme low tide. The park is open for salmon fishing and has plenty of resting benches and picnic tables. Along the North Fork of the Yachats River you will find the barn-red Yachats Covered Bridge which was built in the late 1930’s.
