Old Forge Magistrate

8500 people reside on 3.5 square mile of lands in this borough which was named for the iron forge built by Dr. William Hooker Smith in the late 1700’s. In the early 20th century, Old Forge was know for coal mining and a silk mill. But, today, this community is known for its pizzas businesses. Old Forge style pizzas are served throughout the area. Only 17% of the residents have at least a bachelor’s degree but, even so, only 5% of the population lives below the poverty line.
