With a population density of 10 people per square mile, this land is nested between Deaf Smith, Randall, Swisher, Hale, Lamb, and Parmer Counties. When reviewing the demographic data in this community, we find a racial makeup where more than 75% of the population is White Non Hispanic, and most of the remaining percentage is represented by Hispanic residents; even when African American, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, and other racial groups also reside in this territory with almost 2800 households. This county has been blessed with the Playa Lakes Wildlife Management Area – Dimmit Unit which is a true jewel of nature refreshed by the waters of several lakes including Cone Johnson Lake and Schwalker Lake.
