This community which was first settled with the establishment of three farms in the Spring of 1850 and first known as Kays Ward now as as many as fifteen parks. There is also the Ed Kenley Centennial amphitheater, the Heritage museum and the Layton City Surf ‘n Swim. The amphitheater which is located in Layton Commons park, is the scene of drama and musical theater and musical performances. The museum has permanent exhibits such as “Layton Old Town” with displays of artifacts and photographs of the area from 1850 to the present; Native American artifacts; displays representative of the area’s first commercial ventures and and artifacts and historical pictures representing the agricultural development of North Davis county. The City Surf ‘n Swim facility features an open wave, lap lanes, open swim pool and sand volleyball.
