It was formed back on the early 1700’s from territories of King and Queen County. The name of this county comes from the King of England, William III. This land has very strong Native American heritage due the high number of Native Americans who lived here. On the list of natural resources the Pamunkey and the Mattaponi Rivers reach the top of the list, they irrigate the community and keep the ground fertile.
