Scott City Municipal Court

In the Spring of 1960, Scott City was formed by combining the towns of Ancell and Fornfelt and 20 years later Illmo was included. However there were settlements in thse towns before the Civil War made up of immigrant farmers from Germany. The erection of the Thebes railroad bridge and then construction of the St. Louis, Southwestern railway to this bridge were significant in the formation of Fornfelt and Illmo. City park is the most important of the city’s three parks with its City pool, fitness trail, pond, playground area, basketball court, stage, fair grounds, tennis court, sand volleyball and pavilions. The other parks are Shady Grove and Big Bucks ball park with ballfields and concession stand.
