The Chehalis and Wishkah rivers which feed Grays Harbor lie on either side of Aberdeen. The logging industry, represented on either side of the town by lumber mill towns, shaped much of the history of Aberdeen. Two replica tall ships, docked at the Gray’s Harbor Historical Seaport, are open to tours and demonstrations. Both ships are replicas of ships which were factors in Aberdeen’s history. Sometimes the traditional industries become old hat and things are no different in Aberdeen. The city has been trying to replace logging and fishing with tourism and billing itself as a rertail center.
