Toppenish covers an area of only 2 square miles.The City of Toppenish has completed restoration and beautification projects to provide examples of the history of the city which began as a rugged western town. The results of these projects have provided an area which is a popular tourist attraction. Over 70 outdoor, historical murals in the of center of the city tell the story of the early development of Toppenish. Yakima Valley Rail & Steam Museum is located in the restored Toppenish Depot. American Cowboy magazine has included Toppenish in its list of the 20 best places to live in the West. No wonder with warm temperatures, cool evenings, an average rainfall of eight inches, and 300 days of sunshine.
