Two places in Weirton to spend some quality family time are the Starvaggi Memorial Pool and the Weirton Thomas E. Millsop Community Center. The pool is equipped with a Splash Zone, picnic shelters, beach volleyball pit, bocce court, playground, swimming pool with slides, toddler pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, horseshoe pits. The Thomas E. Millsop Community Center has a host of activities available in almost 86,000 square feet of space. The facilities include a weight room, an indoor swimming pool, racquetball and handball courts and a close to 10,000 squares foot gymnasium. The Weirton Area Museum & Cultural Center is now located the former Home Furniture Company. Here you can find displays of the area’s history and culture. Weirton Steel Company, one of the largest integrated steel producer in the nation and over 100 years old is a major contributor to the local economy.
